La Costa Bandits - 2006 Triple Crown Christmas Qualifier

12/15/06- After almost four months off from playing baseball, the La Costa Bandits dusted
off their equipment and entered the Triple Crown Christmas Qualifier. The Bandits played
the SD Stars in game 1 at Fallbrook. The Bandits tried to spark a rally with a monster HR
from Danny Martin and a few other hits, however the Bandits fell short. The Stars went on
the win the game 9-3.
The Bandits played the RSF Titans in game 2 at San Marcos. This game saw the Bandits
and their bats back in action. The Bandits gave up 2 runs in the first inning and blanked the
Titans the next two with solid defense and a good pitching effort from AJ. The Bandits
mounted a 10-2 lead over the Titans when the game was called due to heavy rains.
The tournament will continue Jan 7th with the Bandits playing the SD Stars at Ingold field.
The winner of that semifinal game will play in the championship at 5:30.
